Big Man Secures the Bag

Domantas Sabonis

Recently an article from The Athletic suggested that the Indiana Pacers were reaching out to teams across the league to engage interest in the talent of rising young big man Domantas Sabonis. Well, it looks as if the Pacers put those rumors to rest yesterday…

Domantas Sabonis Extension

Indiana and Domantas Sabonis came to agreement on a 4 year/$74.9 million extension that will keep the rising star in a Pacers uniform for the foreseeable future. It’s a fantastic deal for both sides as the Pacers now look to lock up a foundation of Myles Turner, Victor Oladipo and newly aquired floor general Malcolm Brogdon for the future. Sabonis is expected this year to start full-time alongside shotblocking center Myles Turner, and the two should be an intriguing combination to keep an eye on throughout the NBA Season. Sabonis has continued to blossom and add to his offensive game and has shown improved confidence with his outside shot each year. Indiana and GM Kevin Pritchard did a great job investing in their rising star, and Pacers fans should be more than excited with the direction this team is heading.
