The Reign Man

Shawn Kemp

For the uneducated, please allow us the opportunity to introduce you to Shawn Kemp. The "Reign Man" as some of you might have heard, was one of the most exciting players to watch in NBA History. Throughout the times of this beautiful game of basketball, we have witnessed some of the most terrifyingly electric dunkers of All-Time. Names like Dominique Wilkins, Daryl "Chocolate Thunder' Dawkins, and even the recent Vince Carter have been legends not as only dunkers, but as players that seemed motivated to destroy rims every time they got near the basket. Shawn Kemp is right there with those players.

In an interview, Kemp stated that Dunkers today aren't the same as the past rim rattlers because they don't try to "bend the rim" when they throw it down. Kemp was an electrifying showman, one of the most entertaining big men with elite athleticism that our game has seen to this day. He wasn't just a dunker though, Kemp had outstanding footwork and leaping ability that made him a threat as both a post player and a defender.

As you'll see below, the former Seattle Supersonics legend put up some eye-opening numbers during his reign of terror in a Sonics uniform. (See what we did there?)
