First of all, let me say that I personally LOVE this move by the San Antonio Spurs. Is it really much of a surprise to say that anymore?
Two years ago, Dejounte Murray made the 1st Team All-Defensive Team, and it looked as if Murray was preparing to have a monster follow-up breakout year. After an ACL injury ended his season before it even got started, Murray is now back and prepared to take off once again.
Murray and the San Antonio Spurs came to an agreement on an extension that will pay the talented ball handler $64 million over 4 years. It’s a great investment by the Spurs and shows they have all of the faith in the potential for Murray as a building block for this team moving forward. Murray joins a young, talented, developing backcourt involving last years playoff standout Derrick White and rising sophomore talent Lonnie Walker IV.
